About the Artist: Batia Lowenberg
Batia studied at Cornell University, the School of Visual Arts, Israel College of the Bible and Purchase College. She obtained her BA in Anthropology with a concentration in Art & Feminism. She participates in public art projects as well as live art events and creates mural-sized paintings, which she calls “Urban-Tropical-Cosmic” abstraction. She works spontaneously through layers using acrylic and latex paints as well as oil sticks and markers for more depth and emphasis. Batia also writes, performs and coaches other artists. Her work has been shown in various solo and group exhibitions in NYC, Florida and also abroad (in both private and public collections within the U.S. Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Israel.) Batia has received several grants over the years including a combined $16,000 from the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County and "The Commons Project" Covid Arts Initiative of West Palm Beach. She has worked with several South Florida municipalities on public projects including Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, Stuart and the Broward County Office of Public Communication.
